TEXT PASSAGE: 전도서(Ecclesiastes) 8:1-17, [개역개정:NIV]

1.누가 지혜자와 같으며 누가 사물의 이치를 아는 자이냐 사람의 지혜는 그의 얼굴에 광채가 나게 하나니 그의 얼굴의 사나운 것이 변하느니라 2.내가 권하노라 왕의 명령을 지키라 이미 하나님을 가리켜 맹세하였음이니라 3.왕 앞에서 물러가기를 급하게 하지 말며 악한 것을 일삼지 말라 왕은 자기가 하고자 하는 것을 다 행함이니라 4.왕의 말은 권능이 있나니 누가 그에게 이르기를 왕께서 무엇을 하시나이까 할 수 있으랴 5.명령을 지키는 자는 불행을 알지 못하리라 지혜자의 마음은 때와 판단을 분변하나니 6.무슨 일에든지 때와 판단이 있으므로 사람에게 임하는 화가 심함이니라 7.사람이 장래 일을 알지 못하나니 장래 일을 가르칠 자가 누구이랴 8.바람을 주장하여 바람을 움직이게 할 사람도 없고 죽는 날을 주장할 사람도 없으며 전쟁할 때를 모면할 사람도 없으니 악이 그의 주민들을 건져낼 수는 없느니라 9.내가 이 모든 것들을 보고 해 아래에서 행하는 모든 일을 마음에 두고 살핀즉 사람이 사람을 주장하여 해롭게 하는 때가 있도다 10.그런 후에 내가 본즉 악인들은 장사지낸 바 되어 거룩한 곳을 떠나 그들이 그렇게 행한 성읍 안에서 잊어버린 바 되었으니 이것도 헛되도다 11.악한 일에 관한 징벌이 속히 실행되지 아니하므로 인생들이 악을 행하는 데에 마음이 담대하도다 12.죄인은 백 번이나 악을 행하고도 장수하거니와 또한 내가 아노니 하나님을 경외하여 그를 경외하는 자들은 잘 될 것이요 13.악인은 잘 되지 못하며 장수하지 못하고 그 날이 그림자와 같으리니 이는 하나님을 경외하지 아니함이니라 14.세상에서 행해지는 헛된 일이 있나니 곧 악인들의 행위에 따라 벌을 받는 의인들도 있고 의인들의 행위에 따라 상을 받는 악인들도 있다는 것이라 내가 이르노니 이것도 헛되도다 15.이에 내가 희락을 찬양하노니 이는 사람이 먹고 마시고 즐거워하는 것보다 더 나은 것이 해 아래에는 없음이라 하나님이 사람을 해 아래에서 살게 하신 날 동안 수고하는 일 중에 그러한 일이 그와 함께 있을 것이니라 16.내가 마음을 다하여 지혜를 알고자 하며 세상에서 행해지는 일을 보았는데 밤낮으로 자지 못하는 자도 있도다 17.또 내가 하나님의 모든 행사를 살펴 보니 해 아래에서 행해지는 일을 사람이 능히 알아낼 수 없도다 사람이 아무리 애써 알아보려고 할지라도 능히 알지 못하나니 비록 지혜자가 아노라 할지라도 능히 알아내지 못하리로다. [NIV] 1.Who is like the wise man? Who knows the explanation of things? Wisdom brightens a man's face and changes its hard appearance. 2.Obey the king's command, I say, because you took an oath before God. 3.Do not be in a hurry to leave the king's presence. Do not stand up for a bad cause, for he will do whatever he pleases. 4.Since a king's word is supreme, who can say to him, "What are you doing?" 5.Whoever obeys his command will come to no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure. 6.For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a man's misery weighs heavily upon him. 7.Since no man knows the future, who can tell him what is to come? 8.No man has power over the wind to contain it ; so no one has power over the day of his death. As no one is discharged in time of war, so wickedness will not release those who practice it. 9.All this I saw, as I applied my mind to everything done under the sun. There is a time when a man lords it over others to his own hurt. 10.Then too, I saw the wicked buried--those who used to come and go from the holy place and receive praise in the city where they did this. This too is meaningless. 11.When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, the hearts of the people are filled with schemes to do wrong. 12.Although a wicked man commits a hundred crimes and still lives a long time, I know that it will go better with God-fearing men, who are reverent before God. 13.Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow. 14.There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth: righteous men who get what the wicked deserve, and wicked men who get what the righteous deserve. This too, I say, is meaningless. 15.So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun. 16.When I applied my mind to know wisdom and to observe man's labor on earth--his eyes not seeing sleep day or night- 17.then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all his efforts to search it out, man cannot discover its meaning. Even if a wise man claims he knows, he cannot really comprehend it.

INTRODUCTION: [모든 권세는 다 하나님께서 정하신 바라.] - The authority which God has established.

로마서(Romans) 13:1-5, 1.각 사람은 위에 있는 권세들에게 복종하라 권세는 하나님으로부터 나지 않음이 없나니 모든 권세는 다 하나님께서 정하신 바라 2.그러므로 권세를 거스르는 자는 하나님의 명을 거스름이니 거스르는 자들은 심판을 자취하리라 3.다스리는 자들은 선한 일에 대하여 두려움이 되지 않고 악한 일에 대하여 되나니 네가 권세를 두려워하지 아니하려느냐 선을 행하라 그리하면 그에게 칭찬을 받으리라 4.그는 하나님의 사역자가 되어 네게 선을 베푸는 자니라 그러나 네가 악을 행하거든 두려워하라 그가 공연히 칼을 가지지 아니하였으니 곧 하나님의 사역자가 되어 악을 행하는 자에게 진노하심을 따라 보응하는 자니라 5.그러므로 복종하지 아니할 수 없으니 진노 때문에 할 것이 아니라 양심을 따라 할 것이라. 1.Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2.Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3.For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4.For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5.Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.
