The man who pleases God will escape her, but the sinner she will ensnare. 27."Look," says the Teacher, "this is what I have discovered: "Adding one thing to another to discover the scheme of things- 28.while I was still searching but not finding-- I found one upright man among a thousand, but not one upright woman among them all. 29.This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes."

<중용>은 공자의 손자인 자사자(子思子)가 쓴 책의 이름이기도 하며 균형 잡힌 중용적 삶이란 뜻으로 사용된다. ‘중(中)은 치우치지도 않고(不偏), 기울어지지도 않고(不倚) 넘치거나 모자람이 없는 상태다(無過不及). 용(庸)은 항상이라는 뜻이다.’ 정리하면, 중용은 균형 잡힌 인생을 살아간다는 뜻이다. 그것도 어쩌다가 한 번이 아니라 언제나 균형을 유지한다는 뜻이다. 중용에 대한 오해 중 하나가 중용은 중간(center)이라는 생각이다. 중용은 상황에 따라 유연하게 변하는 역동적 삶의 방식이다. - The Tao Te Ching is also the name of a book written by Confucius' grandson, Mencius, and is used to refer to a balanced and centered life.
