13.그러므로 너희 마음의 허리를 동이고 근신하여 예수 그리스도께서 나타나실 때에 너희에게 가져다 주실 은혜를 온전히 바랄지어다 14.너희가 순종하는 자식처럼 전에 알지 못할 때에 따르던 너희 사욕을 본받지 말고 15.오직 너희를 부르신 거룩한 이처럼 너희도 모든 행실에 거룩한 자가 되라 16.기록되었으되 내가 거룩하니 너희도 거룩할지어다 하셨느니라 17.외모로 보시지 않고 각 사람의 행위대로 심판하시는 이를 너희가 아버지라 부른즉 너희가 나그네로 있을 때를 두려움으로 지내라. [NIV] 13.Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 14.As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15.But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16.for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy." 17.Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.
